TAIPEI, Taiwan－ Acer has achieved the dominant position across the board in the Philippines, ranking No. 1 for Total PCs and portable PCs in Q2 2014 (IDC) and for projectors in the 1H 2014 (PMA Research), in unit shipments.
Acer scored a significant 101.1% growth in portable PCs on-year with 34.1% market share, and grew by 71.2% on-year in terms of Total PCs with 18.7% market share. For projectors, Acer took 31.2% market share in 1H 2014.
To keep up the momentum, Acer this week announced a new portfolio of Liquid smartphones and tablets in the Philippines. The Liquid series smartphones ranges from the entry model to the powerful with advanced imaging models, from 4 inch to 5.7 inch phablet size displays, including the Acer Liquid Jade, Liquid X1, Liquid E700, Liquid Z5, and Liquid Z200. Complementing the smartphones is the tablet portfolio including the Iconia Tab 8, Iconia Tab 7, and Iconia One 7.
Acer also announced the popular movie star, Toni Gonzaga, as its brand ambassador in the Philippines for Liquid smartphones.
