FTDI Chip announced the full production release and availability of its 2nd generation Embedded Video Engine (EVE) controller, the FT81x family. The ICs and modules are now readily available to order directly from our web shop or soon from our distribution partners.
Combining display, audio and touch functionality on a single chip working with displays up to 800x600 pixels in portrait or landscape orientation, the FT81x family has 18-bit or 24-bit RGB interfacing options, plus increased RAM capacity (1Mbytes) for storing graphics or audio data.
A built-in JPEG decompression engine provides better graphics data usage and enables more effective HMI implementation. These devices support multiple colour palettes of 16-bits and 32-bits with transparency. The host processor SPI/QSPI interfaces support upto 30MHz operation.
In order to support the FT81x ICs, FTDI Chip has announced the VM810C50A family of compact evaluation/development modules, available for immediate ordering.
