TAIPEI, Taiwan — There's a rumor abroad that the lens supplier Largan Precision Co. refused to reduce the price resulted in Apple Inc. has transfered 30 percent of the rear cameras order to Japanese firm Kantatsu. In response to the rumor, Largan refused to comment on one customer. The company’s shares lost 2.01 percent to end at NT$2,685.00 on September 24.
Largan is the most expensive stock in Taiwan, it is believed that due to lost of the order from Apple so that the company’s revenue can’t hit a new record in September.
However, Largan has been suffering from worse-than-expected revenue. Kantatsu has become the back cameras supplier of Apple in this year, investors predicted that Largan will take all of the 12-megapixel rear camera came to nothing.
According to Largan, order remains unchaned. On the other hand, the price is benefited by new handset and new module. High-end products are a boost to the lens industry.
In addition, Taiwanese firms Radiant Opto-Electronics Co., Foxlink Group and F-GIS in Taiwan have newly become Apple’s supply chain.
The launch of new flagship smartphones such as the iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will help drive sales growth in the mobile market in 2015, based on analyst house Gartner.
Meanwhile, the same cannot be said for the PC market, with shipments set to fall by 7.3 percent to 291 million units, despite the release of Windows 10.
