TAIPEI, Taiwan — More and more classrooms in elementary schools and junior high schools have interactive whiteboards, MOST demonstrated what the future classroom will be. Yu Pao-ta, Associate Professor at CCU and his team worked on a project named Group Activities Management System (GAMS) to integrate the learning pad and apps, where user experience is being taken seriously to improve the traditional classrooms' atmosphere.
Yu Pao-ta, Associate Professor at the Computer Science and Information Engineering department of National Chung Cheng University (CCU) and his team is supported by Ministry of Science and Technology in a view to help teachers with the trendy technology in hand.
“GAMS makes the procedure of activities can be lad, and the scenes of activities are various. There's no gap between teachers and students in the 4G era, GAMS can be displayed on any device and easily organized. Real-time interactions are being highly emphasized and realized.” said Yu Pao-ta.
Yu Pao-ta stated out that GAMS only takes a fifth-of-a-second whenever doing the real-time interactions in the classroom, with the core technology Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) and Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), the system can record the class while replay it at the same time.
GAMS both supported AirPlay and Miracast that are peer-to-peer wireless screencasting standards formed via Wi-Fi Direct connections in a manner similar to Bluetooth.
Relatively, many Taiwanese firms are devoted in providing the smart classroom's devices, for example, Acer's notebook, BenQ's projector, and HaBook Information Technology's electronic whiteboards.
