TAIPEI, TAIWAN — FCI, a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect systems, was presented with the prestigious 2014 DesignVision Award in the Interconnect Technologies and Components category for its ExaMAX Direct-Mate Orthogonal Connector.

Hosted by UBM Tech, the DesignVision Awards program comprises of eight categories designed to highlight accomplishments of electronics firms and their contributions to the simplification of the design process and customers’ evolving needs. Results were announced at the DesignCon 2014 technology exhibition, held in Santa Clara from January 28th to the 31st, of which FCI is a participant and exhibitor.
DesignVision award winners are selected by UBM Tech’s editorial team based on three criteria: the product’s vision and insight it brings to customers’ demands, its originality and whether it offers a new approach, and its quality of implementation to suit market requirements.
The ExaMAX Direct-Mate Orthogonal connector features superior 25 Gbps electrical performance across an orthogonal interface without requiring a midplane. Its unique construction enables a dense and smooth differential signal pair transmission path between the two orthogonal boards.
