iST, a Taiwanese electronics verification test service provider, announced today that through signing the share subscription agreement with BTL Inc., iST will spend NTD$ 180 million to obtain 21.05% stock right of BTL at NTD$ 45 per share. This will be the pushing effort for iST enters the mainland China testing market of compulsory certification and regulations.
Established in 1986, BTL entered in the South China Region in 2001. BTL began its business from communication base stations test and gradually expanded its scope of operations, including RF, SAR, Telecom, Safety and International Approval,etc. BTL has developed China market for a long time, and it is the first Taiwan-funded enterprise who obtained the certification of CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) Note 1.
In addition, with its years of effort in mainland, BTL has built a deep partnership with many branding companies, including Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi and Lenovo, and become the appointed laboratory of compulsory certification and regulations.
The president of BTL, Denny Wu said, communication product function has grown ever more complex, therefore a laboratory should embrace “solutions”, instead of stopping at the “testing” stage. iST, started out as an IC circuit debug and solution provider, its voluntary certification, including compatibility testing of HDMI/MHL/HDCP and OTA test (SISO/MIMO) is conspicuous.
This capital introduction of iST will lead in the solution tech team to complete BTL’s lab, and to truly realize the one-stop shopping verification and certification service for the IT products in mainland China.
In the future , all the supply chain of IT products in mainland China can perform compatibility test, regulatory application, OTA test and apply the logo issued by the communication standard association through BTL and iST.
The president of iST, Danny Yu said, with the rich experiences of IT compulsory certification and regulations in China, BTL will not only complete more iST’s signal testing strategy, but assist iST in providing full services to customers of smart phone brand manufacturers in mainland China to cope with the coming of 5G and IoT.
